Roof Pressure Washing and Chemical Treatments

What are the benefits of roof cleaning?

  • Maintaining the condition of your roof can save you thousands in costly repairs, why? Leaving moss and other growths to grow on your roof can over time lead to tiles becoming dislodged or cracked especially over the winter months with the wet moss freezing and potentially cracking the tiles. This can over time cause leaking and other issues.

  • Having your roof professionally cleaned will dramatically improve the appearance of your property. People take great pride in the appearance of there property often cleaning the windows and other aspects but often neglect the roof assuming that it's either not possible to clean or thinking it would be too expensive both of which are far from true. Modern technologies have made roof cleaning possible and affordable.

  • Having your roof cleaned and treated will massively reduce your overall exterior property maintenance. Your gutters will not fill up with moss or other debris and your gutter, soffits and fascias will stay cleaner for longer because there will be no blockages or dirty guttering water splashing over. Having full or blocked gutters and downpipes can also sometimes cause isses with damp getting into the wall cavity so having completely clear gutters eliminates this issue.

What is the process?

Step 1: Pressure washing the roof

Step 2: Chemical Treatment

Step 3: Gutter ‘clearance’ & PVC Cleaning

  • Firstly we would come out and have a close inspection of the roof, making note of the type of tile, condition of the roof, access to the property. We would also be able to answer any questions you may have and help you better understand exactly what is involved.

  • As long as the roof is in a solid condition the first step would be to set up our access equipment whether that be a tower scaffold, roofing ladders or cherry picker depending on the job, we would then Pressure wash your roof using our equipment specifically manufactured for 'roof pressure washing'. Once complete we would then finish with a final rinse down.

  • After pressure washing we then apply a specialised chemical mixture that will differ slightly depending on the tile. This is applied carefully and methodically to not miss any tiles. This will kill all the roots and spores of moss, algae, litchen and other growths and most importantly PREVENTING them from regerminating for years to come.

  • Our next step would be to fully 'clear' all your downpipes. After this we will thoroghly 'clean' all your gutters, soffits, fascias, downpipes, conservatory (if applicable), windows and doors.

  • Lastly we will pack all of our equipment up and sweep up and rinse any moss or debris that has fallen onto the ground leaving everything spotless.

  • It is absolutely safe to Pressure Wash the majority of roofs however if your roof is in a poor condition for example many cracked tiles, mortar missing from the ridge tiles it would not be advised. When we come to look at the job this is something we will consider and speak to you about. For roofs that are in poor condition there are other options for cleaning such as a biocide Chemical Treatment.
